Five tabs run along the bottom, with the capture bar just above them.
| Tab | What’s there |
|---|---|
| Today | What you committed to, the fold, and what’s eligible below it. |
| Inbox | Tasks with no project and no date. |
| Upcoming | The next two weeks, day by day, each against your capacity. |
| Browse | The Logbook, Stale review, the Graveyard and the Archive, then your areas, projects and labels. |
| Search | Every task, open and finished. |
Tap Capture a task… above the tabs from anywhere. Tap a task to open it; the gear on Today opens Settings.

iPad and Mac
A sidebar holds everything: Today, Inbox, Upcoming and Logbook, then Review (Stale review, Graveyard, Archive), then each area with its projects and how many tasks are open, then Labels, then Search.

Clicking a task opens it in a drawer over the right side of the list, so the list never jumps. Press Escape to close it. The toolbar has + for a new task and the gear for Settings.
The keyboard reaches everything: ⌘1 to ⌘4 for the lists, arrows to move, Return to open, Space to complete.
The numbers on the side
Today, the Inbox and Stale review show how many tasks are waiting there. On iPad and Mac each project shows its open tasks too.
