Type it the way you'd say it

Billine reads days, times, estimates, projects and labels as you type, and shows you exactly what it understood.

Idea

You don’t fill in fields to capture a task. You write one line, the way you’d say it, and Billine picks out the parts it knows.

call the dentist about the crown tomorrow 9am ~15m #phone

Saved as call the dentist about the crown

  • Tomorrow
  • 9:00 AM
  • 15m
  • #phone

Nothing is guessed silently

As you type, a chip appears under the line for each piece Billine recognised, and the title above them shows what will be saved. If a chip is wrong, tap its ✕ and that piece is taken back out of the line.

When you type only a time, Billine assumes today and shows a faded today chip, so you can see the assumption.

What it knows

  • Where: /project, #label.
  • When: a day (friday, next week, 12 Sep), a time (9am), a deadline (by friday).
  • How long: ~15m, ~2h.
  • Again: every weekday, every 1st and 15th.
  • Interruptions: remind me at 15:45.
  • Today: !today commits it above the fold.

The whole list, with every example, is on Capture grammar.

Tip

Tap ? in any capture field for What you can type, the same list inside the app. Settings › Capture has a field to try lines out and watch the chips appear.
