The quickest way is to type it: pay rent every month, water the plants every 3 days after completion. To set or change a repeat in detail:
- Open the task.
- In Repeat and remind, tap Repeat.
- Choose how it repeats, then tap Apply.
On a schedule, or after you finish
- On a schedule follows the calendar: rent on the 1st, a meeting every Tuesday.
- After I finish counts from the day you complete it: water the plants 3 days after you last did. These never pile up.
Patterns
| Pattern | For example |
|---|---|
| Daily | Every day, or every 2 days. |
| Weekly | Chosen weekdays; Weekdays and Weekends fill them in. |
| Monthly, on dates | The 1st and the 15th. Short months use their last day. |
| Last day of the month | Rent, invoices. |
| Last workday of the month | Reports, payroll. |
| Yearly | A month and a day. |
Each one can repeat every 1 to 99 periods: every 2 weeks, every 3 months.
If you miss some
- Stack them: each missed one stays until you do it. Right for bills.
- Skip them: missed ones are forgiven and only the next shows. Right for habits.
When it ends
Never, On a date (the last one), or After a number of times. Next five shows the coming dates before you apply.
One occurrence at a time
- Skip this occurrence: this one is skipped and the next one comes.
- Detach this one from the series: it becomes an ordinary task.
- Deleting asks Delete This One or Delete This and All Future.
Changing the rule of a series that has history applies from this one on; the ones already done keep the rule they had. When you complete a repeating task, the next one appears.
