Today has a line across it: the fold.

- Committed, above the fold, is what you decided to do today. The track at the top adds up their estimates against your capacity.
- Eligible, below the fold, is everything you could do today: tasks whose do-date or deadline is today or earlier.
Nothing below the fold is a failure. It’s a menu to choose from when there’s room.
Commit and release
To move a task above the fold, do any of these:
iPhone
- Tap the arrow on its row.
- Swipe it from the left edge, and tap Today.
- Touch and hold it, and choose Commit to today.
- Open it and tap Commit to today. The track shows the day With this before you decide.

iPad and Mac
- Click the arrow on its row.
- Right-click it, and choose Commit to today. On iPad, touch and hold it, or swipe it from the left edge.
- Open it and choose Commit to today. The track shows the day With this before you decide.

To move one back down, use the same arrow, swipe or menu: Release, or Move below the fold. Nothing is lost; it waits below the fold.
Drag committed tasks to put them in the order you’ll do them.
Reading the track
The track at the top reads like 3h 40m of 4h. Under it, Billine says how much time your meetings take and how many tasks you’ve done today.
| The track says | It means |
|---|---|
| Under | There’s room for more. |
| Near | You’re within the last 15% of your day. |
| Full | The day is exactly spoken for. |
| Over | You committed more than the day holds, and Billine says Release something below the fold. |
Tasks without an estimate count as nothing, so the track can only be as honest as your estimates.
Evenings
From Evening starts at (8:00 PM unless you change it in Settings), Today grows a Tomorrow section with its own capacity, and what you commit from below the fold goes to tomorrow. Plan my day becomes Plan tomorrow.
At midnight, Today starts fresh.
