- Wherever you are, press ⌃⌥Space.
- A New task panel floats over the app you’re in, with the cursor in it.
- Type the task the way you’d say it, and press Return.
The panel closes and you’re back where you were. Billine’s own windows don’t move, and the task lands where its line says: the Inbox, a project, a day, or Today with !today.
Turn it on or off
It’s on by default. In Settings, turn Capture from any app off or on.
The shortcut is fixed for now: it’s always ⌃⌥Space. If another app already uses it (some task managers do), Billine says so under the switch. Turn it off in that app, then switch Billine’s off and on again.
Billine has to be running
The shortcut works while Billine is open, even with no window: closing the window leaves Billine in the menu bar. See The menu bar.
