How can we help?

Most answers are below. If yours isn't, write to us: a person reads every message.

Using Billine
How does Today know what fits?

Today compares the estimates of the tasks you committed to with your daily capacity, which you set in Settings › Your day.

Turn on Settings › Calendar › Subtract calendar busy time and meetings within your working hours come off the top. Billine only reads when you're busy; it never changes your events.

Do I need an account?

No. Billine has no sign-up. Your tasks live on your device, and with Billine Pro they sync through the iCloud account you're already signed in to.

Can I bring my tasks from Apple Reminders?

Yes. Go to Settings › Your data › Import and choose Apple Reminders. Billine shows what it will bring in before it adds anything, and reads your reminders only then. It never changes them.

Your lists become projects, and your default list fills the Inbox. Titles, notes and links, dates, alerts and the repeats Billine can follow come along; completed reminders too, if you choose.

Can a reminder ring when I get somewhere?

Yes, on iPhone and iPad. In a task's reminders, choose A place…, find it, and pick Arriving or Leaving. Billine asks for Location the first time; While Using the App is enough. The system watches for the place and rings the reminder, and Billine never sees where you are.

The Mac can't ring a reminder at a place, so those ring on your iPhone and iPad only.

Why does Billine keep running after I close its window on the Mac?

So ⌃⌥Space and your reminders keep working. Billine stays in the menu bar, with today's open tasks and New Task…; ⌘Q quits it. If you'd rather not see it there, turn off Show in the menu bar in Billine's Settings (⌘,), and closing the window leaves it in the Dock instead.

How do I get my data out?

Settings › Your data › Export. JSON and CSV are free, always. JSON holds all your tasks, plans, reminders and settings, and Import can bring it back on any device. Billine Pro adds PDF, HTML, Markdown, TaskPaper and iCalendar.

Exports don't include attached files. To keep one, open it from its task and use Share.

Billine Pro
What does Billine Pro add?

iCloud sync between your iPhone, iPad and Mac, and export in every format. Everything that plans your day is free. Billine Pro costs US$5.99 a month or US$59.99 a year, with a 14-day free trial. In other countries the App Store sets the price in your currency and shows it before you buy.

I bought Pro on another device. How do I get it here?

Make sure this device uses the same Apple Account, then go to Settings › Billine Pro › Restore purchases.

How do I cancel?

Go to Settings › Billine Pro › Manage subscription in Billine, or open your App Store subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. Cancelling during the free trial costs nothing.

How do I ask for a refund?

Apple handles every payment and refund for Billine. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue refunds ourselves, but we're happy to help if something went wrong.

What happens to my tasks if Pro ends?

Nothing is lost or locked. Sync pauses, and each device keeps every task it has. Planning, reminders and JSON or CSV export keep working.

iCloud sync
Sync isn't working. What should I check?
  1. Every device is signed in to the same Apple Account, with iCloud turned on.
  2. Settings › Sync › Sync with iCloud is on, on each device.
  3. Billine Pro is active on the device (Restore purchases if not).
  4. The device is online. Then tap Sync now.

I changed the same task on two devices. Which change wins?

The later one. Billine keeps a list of changes that replaced another in Settings › Sync › Changes made on two devices, so nothing disappears without a trace. A completed task stays completed, and a deleted one never comes back.

Where is my synced data stored?

In your own iCloud account, in Billine's private space there, attached files included. It counts toward your iCloud storage (each attachment can be up to 100 MB), and we can't see or access it. To remove it, use Settings › [your name] › iCloud on iPhone or iPad, or System Settings on the Mac, and manage Billine's storage.
